This year we are presenting our radio version of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. There are only three performances, so get your tickets early!
The cast of all local performers includes many of your favorite actors and a healthy helping of new talent that will be gracing Orcas Island stages for years to come. A particularly enjoyable feature of our radio play performances is the live generated sound effects that place you amidst the settings being depicted.
All the beloved characters from A Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchett, Tiny Tim) and those not so beloved (Marley’s ghost, Scrooge, Christmas Future) are there to tell the story of Scrooge, who long ago abandoned love and instead chose a lonely existence to pursue riches. On Christmas eve, he is visited by his dead business partner’s ghost – Marley. Marley admits his own wrong choices in life and warns Scrooge that he will be visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. They appear and show Scrooge the life he could have had, the one he now has, and the future he will have – unless he changes his ways.
Come join us at the Grange stage to laugh, cry, enjoy, applaud and maybe even boo (no offense to the ghosts) at our radio play version of A Christmas Carol. Bring the whole family for this classic of Christmas literature.
Performances are at 7:00 PM Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13. The show will close on Sunday, December 14 with a matinee performance at 1:00 PM. Tickets are $15.00. available online through Brown Paper Tickets, at Darvill’s bookstore, and at the Grange door.

ORCAS SINGS B’WAY !! Event Announcement!!

ORCAS SINGS B’WAY!
A FUNDRAISER COMING TO THE GRANGE 10/25/25!!
Actors Theater of Orcas Island (ATOI) is excited to announce their first gala fundraiser — ORCAS SINGS B’WAY! — to be held at the Grange on Saturday, October 25th at 7pm. Please join us for the show of a lifetime as your friends and neighbors sing their hearts out performing their favorite Broadway songs! Who knew that the guy who built your deck has a great baritone voice or that the young woman who cleans your house has perfect comic timing?
We have more than 16 Orcas locals who have summoned up their courage to present songs from a variety of Broadway shows including “West Side Story”, “Oklahoma”, “Hamilton”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Wicked” and many more.
Some great Orcas cooks are planning refreshments for your enjoyment during the evening — including, yes, Paula’s cookies — and generous Orcas donors are providing a selection of wines.
Tickets for the evening are $45. All funds go to support ATOI, the non-profit group whose mission is to enhance our island with performances, education, and community building.
Exciting News: PlayFest is Back!
Auditions at the Grange:
Sunday Feb 16th at 2pm
Monday Feb 17th at 7pm

After a few years on hold, we are thrilled to announce the revival of PlayFest, the beloved Actors Theater of Orcas Island production that celebrates our community’s creative talent.
This year, we are reviving some of the best plays of the last several years, ones we’d love to see again. Whether you’re a seasoned actor or director, or a first-timer, PlayFest offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a production without a major time commitment. Each play is approximately 10 minutes long, and the process includes just 6-8 rehearsals, so even if you're currently in an ongoing production you may still be able to dive in!
Performance Dates:
April 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20
Location: The Grange
If unable to make these dates, please contact Aaimee Johnson at 360-298-1201 or Tom Fiscus at 360-298-0534.
If you’re interested in directing, please contact Aaimee or Tom ASAP.
We can’t wait to see these amazing plays again and hope you will join us. Whether you’re looking to act, direct, or help backstage, PlayFest is an experience you won’t want to miss!
